Speaking at an internal Nokia conference, CEO Stephen Elop introduced a video demonstration of the Nokia Sea Ray, Nokia’s first Windows 7 phone. The device looks incredibly similar to the Nokia N9 announced earlier this week, except Windows Phone 7 Mango OS onboard and a slightly shifted LED placement.

Kaspersky Lab recently disclosed details about the latest security software releases for 2012 from their company. The Anti-Virus 2012 and Internet Security 2012 combine both cloud-hosted and local PC protection. The company claim this release to be the most advanced PC security set-up in the world, able to protect users from the growing threat of malware found on Twitter, Facebook and serch engine results, and dreaded “Black Hole SEO”.

Nokia have won over smartphone rivals Apple, signing a patent license agreement with the iPad and iPhone manufacturers that will see Nokia paid an undisclosed one-time fee alongside ongoing royalties.
The Finnish company Nokia took Apple to court in 2009 over the alleged utilization of patented Nokia technologies present in the popular iPhone. Apple, on the other hand, quickly formed a counter lawsuit accusing Nokia of similarly infringing on patents. (more…)
